About Liz Vequist
If you’re feeling stressed out and stuck in Survival Mode…
I’m here to give you a dose of what I like to call Mind-Body Bliss.
(not just on special days but more often than not).
Hi, I’m Liz Vequist. I’ve been into Health and Wellness for most of my life (with a few ups and downs to be 100% honest). I had the good fortune of being raised this way by my incredibly inspiring healthy parents.
Let’s talk about those ups and downs. ‘Cause if it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t be doing this work. Let’s just say that my lifestyle and career choices in my 20’s led to my feeling pretty unhappy with myself in just about every way possible (overweight, stressed, angry and depressed just for starters).
At 30, I woke up and decided that things needed to change. It was time to get off the hamster wheel, stop blaming others for feeling like crap and begin creating something better. I yearned for a life that felt meaningful – which began with loving myself and has continued with loving my work and the people in my life. A life that makes me excited to get up in the morning.
If you know deep inside that things need to change and you’d like to create more joy and happiness in your life… I can help.
Change starts with loving yourself enough to take the first step.
It really helps to have an ally cheer you on and support you to make those big (or little!) changes that will make your life better.
Yoga’s been a part of my life
…since I followed my mom into a shoulder stand as a 5 year old. I learned a “walking meditation” at the same age. Both yoga and meditation have helped me deal with stress, injuries and the twists and turns of life. I credit my yoga practice for my strong and flexible mind and body. My teaching style emphasizes form and alignment within a slower flow sequence. With my bodywork background, I enjoy creating yoga programs that are appropriate for the needs of many different bodies. I’ve given thousands of Shiatsu massages since 2003.
You probably don’t pay much attention to your body until it starts screaming at you – in discomfort or pain. Bodywork helps you connect and make friends with your body (your body is way smarter than you give it credit for!). Shiatsu massage involves way more than just your physical body. I’ll work through the emotional, physical and spiritual planes so you feel completely balanced and rejuvenated (version 2.0). I’m known for working deeply, releasing tightly held muscular and joint issues as well as longstanding emotional pain patterns. Click here to find out about Shiatsu Massage.
Optimizing my own Nutrition has been a Lifelong Journey.
It’s a journey that continues to evolve. On the whole I feel best eating a plant-based whole foods diet – as local, organic and home-cooked as possible. I don’t like labels and don’t believe that any one diet works for everyone. My approach to weight loss is holistic which means that it will speak to your whole self – what you like to eat, your cravings, how you move, how you deal with stress and of course your lifestyle too. I have created innovative and successful programs for weight loss based on my own personal journey and work with clients over the last 8 years.
